production
The goal of this video production was to encompass the excitement and energy of the live recording of the Club 520 Podcast, hosted by NBA champion Jeff Teague and featuring special guest Greg Oden. When creating this highlight reel, Demel chose to create a looping effect to retain the audience’s attention through strategic content and sound design.
For these video productions, Demel led creative direction, lighting design, and location scouting. He played a pivotal role in the editing of the videos as well. These videos were created and showcased on Old Dominion University’s Jumbotron directly before kick-off and social media platforms. Demel’s objective when creating these visuals was to provide an immersive experience by utilizing recognizable location’s for the target audiences appeal.
Demel employed his creative talents in the production of this stop motion reel, offering fans the opportunity to relive his unique perspective during Old Dominion University’s upset victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies. This reel was posted in collaboration with Demel’s personal account (@demelbolden) and the Old Dominion University Football account.
In honor of 2024 NBA All Star Weekend, Demel documented the creation of three 6-foot basketball murals painted by Indianapolis artists as a part of the “Hoosier Historia“ project in partnership with the Indianapolis Arts Council. Demel’s objective when executing these pieces of social content was to uniquely display the craftsmanship of the artists in a creative and effective manner, while maintaining the retention of the target audience.
Demel fulfilled the roles of video editor, assistant director, production researcher, and lighting tech for this project for the NCAA. The video was posted in collaboration with the NCAA, Southeastern Conference, and University of South Carolina Men’s Basketball social media accounts to build anticipation for the 2023-2024 basketball season beginning.
For this interactive design, Demel crafted this graphic to entice viewers to intuitively interact with the post while also directing the target audience to a web article written by Princeton University. This project was distributed as a collaboration between the NCAA, Princeton University, and the Ivy League conference, amplifying the impact of the story on a broader stage.
